School of Landscape Architecture

Born in Seoul and raised in Germany, I have traveled extensively, drawing inspiration from diverse environments worldwide. Before pursuing landscape architecture, I worked as a film producer, a background that enriches my approach to designing dynamic, visually engaging outdoor spaces. I am passionate about creating designs that foster connection and are accessible to all, reflecting a commitment to both aesthetic excellence.

Library Garden

This project transforms the 601 Brannan parking lot into a permeable garden extension of a future library. Replacing asphalt and concrete with softscape reduces stormwater runoff, supports groundwater recharge, and helps mitigate urban heat. The design creates a sequence of plant-defined outdoor rooms, including reading gardens, themed gardens, a demonstration garden, and an entry garden. Circulation paths connect these spaces while maintaining a strong emphasis on planting. Trees, shrubs, grasses, vines, and groundcovers define edges, provide shade, frame views, and support learning. The result is a resilient civic landscape that serves both the library and the community.
