School of Art Education

I am a passionate advocate for childhood creativity enhancing learning and healthy development. As a painter, I bring my expertise and excitement to my Art classroom, creating a rich educational experience for my students. Currently, I work as the Lower School Art Specialist at The Bear Creek School in Redmond, Washington. I will graduate with my Master’s in Arts Education with the Academy of Art University this May.

Lesson Plan Inspiration:
In developing my Capstone Project for Elementary Students, I wanted to create a lesson that explored the idea of growth in both nature and art. My piece, entitled “Wild Whimsy ,” was inspired by the garden photography of Lucy Hunter. Her ethereal garden moments inspired me to paint a floral scene full of movement and change. This lesson explores creating meaningful garden collages for elementary school students to savor the beauty of growth and renewal, both in the world around them and in their own lives.
