This project is centered on painting objects realistically in a traditional still life style. The chosen objects symbolize a party, celebration, or event—whether it’s about to happen, currently unfolding, or already passed. The project was developed with this theme in mind to allow me to paint objects I love to look at, while offering endless subject matter. It also serves as a way for me to practice and refine realistic painting techniques, especially in creating lighting and mood. These paintings are intended to be humorous, metaphorical, cynical, and ironic. The familiar nature of the objects invites a wide range of viewers to insert themselves into the narrative, triggering their own memories and associations. To support this intent, I researched the symbolism of parties across different cultures and historical contexts. I gathered source material from local thrift and party stores, grocery and convenience stores, online sources, and my own collection of personal items
