Lorrie McPheeters

Fashion – Design / Master of Fine Arts (MFA)

School of Fashion

I was born and raised in the Bay Area, South Bay. Although my first career was as an Electrical Engineer designing microprocessors, I always kept designing and creating clothes in my life. Fashion design has been my passion since I was big enough to reach the foot pedal of a sewing machine. Eventually I made the switch to pursue a career in Fashion, which began as a Costume designer and working as a seamstress and dressmaker for a wedding planner. I decided to go to school to pick up more technical skills and hone my design skills. I received two associate degrees in Fashion from West Valley College, and that allowed me to apply for the Graduate program at Academy of Art University. AAU has helped to push boundaries and finally finding who I am as a designer and what I can bring to the Fashion Industry.
