I paint interior artisanal spaces such as workshops and studios—places shaped by sustained human labor. These environments hold traces of the artisan, their tools, and the patina of use. Rather than treating them as static settings, I see them as quiet records of process and creativity.
The medium of oil allows me to work slowly and deliberately, building the image through layers. This method reflects the nature of the spaces themselves, which evolve through repetition and time. I use light to describe structure and atmosphere while allowing certain areas to remain open or unresolved.
The artisan is absent in my paintings, but their presence is implied through objects and spatial arrangements: a stool pulled back, a tool left in place, a work
surface marked by use. These details reflect the personality of the artisan and suggest ongoing activity without direct narrative.
Through these interiors, I am interested in craftsmanship as both labor and way of thinking. The paintings aim to acknowledge the quiet dignity of making and the spaces that support it, inviting viewers to slow down and look closely.
