It’s been exciting to watch my work grow in such a short time at the Academy of Art University. As artists, it’s easy to get so caught up in the moment that we lose sight of the bigger picture (ironic, I know). Taking time to look back isn’t just a good habit, it’s a reminder of how far you’ve come and a chance to give yourself a pat on the back.
I can think of plenty of moments when I’ve felt frustrated with my work, only to revisit it months later and realize I was doing better than I gave myself credit for, this show allows for a moment of celebration! Enjoy the process, and remember that the most important step toward improving is simply showing up.
