I am Olivia Pletkin, and this is my work. I have been in love with fashion for as long as I can remember. As a kid I would make fashion drawings and attempt to hand-sew them even though I didn’t know how.
I carry art and fashion within me everywhere I go. I love to challenge the idea of beauty and find it in ways that might not be so obvious. Like with varying body shapes, skins, and cultures.
Fashion design is a great way to look closer into the ideas of beauty and I really enjoy finding those different ideas, whether it be through silhouette, color, or proportion.
I had my start in costuming and made a transition over to fashion design. Studying fashion design intensely has helped me find my voice and style when I’m designing. I’m really drawn to nature and animals, so my style translates into that. I’m looking forward to seeing where these next steps take me and my designs.
